To plan, register, prepare, and ride with Devo. Devo is an age-based, community-centered mountain bike development program dedicated to sharing the love of riding mountain bikes.
Our 6th-12th Grade Programs are for riders currently in middle school OR high school (it’s never too late to give a new style of riding a try!). We have several specialty teams for this age group which focus on Gravity and Dirt Jumping and Bikepacking. Not sure which program is right for you? Click below to view an info guide about all of our middle and high school program offerings.
TEAM OPTIONS:
Description: Sendas is a female-identifying group for both middle school and high school riders who are new to the world of gravity mountain biking and want to build on the fundamental bike handling skills learned in U14 in an effort to progress towards Flyers/Flyas. All riders in this group must have completed at least one season of U14 or U19 prior to registering.
Goals: The overall goal of this group is to build the basic skills of jumping and descending to eventually be able to tackle more advanced jumps, drops, and descents. Requirements: This group starts to build on more advanced skills, and requires a solid MTB foundation first. All riders in this group must have completed at least one season of U14, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, or U19 prior to registering.

Description: This is a group for female-identifying middle or high school riders who want to learn the skills of bikepacking with a group of incredibly rad ladies! This group is led by Sarah Tescher, and will teach the same bike packing and survival skills as the Ramblers group, but in an all-girls setting. The team will culminate the season with an overnight trip. Read our latest Updates post about the Explorers programs!Goals: Riders will learn the skills to be self-sufficient on an overnight bikepacking trip, including packing their gear on their bike, finding water, starting fires, setting up shelter, and preparing food. Requirements: Riders of all abilities are encouraged to join this all-girls group. There are no prerequisites for this group.
Each Spring and Fall semester runs for 8 weeks, followed by a 9th week to make up for any weather-related cancellations. Teams meet once per week. Practices are 2 hours. Practice locations are TBD, and will be announced by the coach before practice each week. 6th-12th Grade teams also have the option to attend an out-of-town trip each season!
Feel free to mix and match all our different U14 and/or U19 offerings. For example, you could register for one day of Sendas and and U19! Programs are scheduled so that your “core curriculum” is on Tues/Thurs, and “extracurriculars” like Sendas on are Mon/Weds. Contact Rob Nichols at robnichols@durangodevo.com for more details about combining/mixing/matching our different options.
*6th-12th Grade programs will open for registration at 9:30am on Saturday, June 22nd. Register below*
