To plan, register, prepare, and ride with Devo. Devo is an age-based, community-centered mountain bike development program dedicated to sharing the love of riding mountain bikes.
These camps combine programs by Devo and Seed Studios. Various camps are offered for riders ages 5-11, with all-girls options available too! Explore local singletrack in the morning and spend the afternoon with Seed creating art, practicing yoga, and learning about meditation. Learn more about Seed Studios at https://www.seedstudioart.org/
Kids must ride a pedal bike (no push bikes or training wheels) independently and must be confident riding on dirt trails. Coaster brakes OR hand brakes are welcome. Wheel size is not a factor at this age as long as the bike fits the rider.
The main goals of our Seed Studios camps are to build team camaraderie and expand a rider’s curiosity and excitement for life, both on and off the bike! Coaches will teach basic skills of shifting (if applicable), braking, reliably starting and stopping, reinforce trail etiquette, and encourage proper balance on two wheels with level pedals. Seed Studios educators will teach art, yoga, meditation, and more.
At this age, parent participation is discouraged as we generally see riders grow and learn the most when they can attend practice without their parents!
Each summer camp runs for 5 consecutive days (Monday – Friday). Camps are full day, from 9:30am to 3:30pm. Practices will meet at the Durango Mason Center (across 3rd Ave from the Smiley Building). We allow up to 10 riders per camp with 2 coaches. Campers will ride bikes with Devo coaches in the morning. After a lunch break, campers will join Seed Studios educators for activities with Seed! A team must have at least 6 registrants in order to run. View our course catalogs for scheduling details.
Registration for ’24 Summer Camps will open on Friday, March 29 at 10am
