PUSHBIKE

PUSHBIKE PROGRAMS – SPRING/FALL SEMESTERS

Pushbike programs are for kids ages 3 to 4 years old as of the first day of practice. Click below for more information and registration! We have an all-girls program option (female-identifying). All other groups are co-ed.

Requirements

Kids must ride a push bike (or strider bike); no pedals or training wheels are allowed in these groups. Kids must be able to communicate well enough to express their needs to their coach and follow instructions.

Goals

The main goals of our push bike programs are to introduce kids to riding in a team environment and share the fun of riding bikes. Coaches will teach basic skills of reliably starting and stopping, introduce trail etiquette, and encourage proper balance on two wheels.

Parent Participation

Parent participation is discouraged as we generally see riders grow and learn the most when they can attend practice without their parents! However, at this age, there are times when parent participation in the program is necessary or helpful for the rider to be most successful. Please consult with your coach.

Team Format

Each Spring and Fall semester runs for 8 weeks, followed by a 9th week to make up for any weather-related cancellations. Each team practices 1 day per week. Practices are 1 hour. Practices will meet at a different trailhead/location each week (See Practice Location Schedule). You can register for multiple teams to practice multiple days per week. We allow up to 8 riders per team with 2 coaches. A team must have at least 3 registrants in order to run. View our course catalogs for scheduling details.
