PRESCHOOL SUMMER CAMPS

PRESCHOOL SUMMER CAMPS

Preschool summer camps are for kids ages 4 to 5 years old and in preschool as of the first day of practice. Click below for more information and registration!

Requirements

Kids must ride a pedal bike (no push bikes or training wheels) independently, being able to start and stop on their own 50% of the time or more. If your child is transitioning from a push bike to a pedal bike, our coaches are here to assist in that process. However, if your child is not yet confident pedaling independently, we ask that you register for a Push Bike class to ensure your child and their teammates have the most fun! Contact Aubrey at aubrey@durangodevo.com if you’re not sure which group is right for your child.

Goals

The main goals of our preschool summer camps are to foster team camaraderie, and share the fun of riding bikes with friends and coaches! Coaches will teach basic skills of reliably starting and stopping, reinforce trail etiquette and encourage proper balance on two wheels.

Parent Participation

At this age, parent participation is discouraged as we generally see riders grow and learn the most when they can attend practice without their parents!

Team Format

Each summer camp runs for 5 consecutive days (Monday – Friday). Practices are 1.5 hours in the morning from 9am-10:30am. Practices will meet at a different trailhead/location day; your coach will email your schedule prior to your camp. We allow up to 10 riders per camp with 2 coaches. A team must have at least 3 registrants in order to run. View our course catalogs for scheduling details.

What to Bring
  • Pedal bike (hand or coaster brakes are ok)
  • Helmet
  • Close-toed shoes
  • A backpack that your rider can easily carry with water and a healthy snack.
