ADULT

ADULT PROGRAMS – SPRING/FALL SEMESTER

Our adult programs are for adults (not just parents!) looking for mountain biking-specific instruction and coaching. Coaches are Professional Mountain Bike Instructor (PMBI) certified, and will help you take your riding to the next level! We offer several teams for men and women based on ability level. Click the programs below for more information about each.

WOMENS TEAM OPTIONS:

Adult Women (WOW) – Beginner, Never Have I Ever!

This 4-week program is for true beginners with little to no prior experience on mountain bikes. Participants must have their own gear in good working order (equipment needs to be within ten years or a rental for safety reasons), no previous riding experience is necessary. This clinic will show beginner trails in Durango; as well as teach stance and balance, proper use of gears and brakes, terrain awareness, and basic trail and group riding etiquette.

Adult Women (WOW) – Beginner/Intermediate

This is a group for riders with some limited mountain bike experience who are looking to progress their skills with expert guidance. Participants must have their own gear in good working order, have ridden on green & beginner blue singletrack for at least one full season (spring-fall), and be able to pedal up horse gulch road. Coaches will introduce other trails similar in difficulty and how to confidently ride them. This group is great for women who already know a bit about biking, but want to learn the skills to progress their riding to the next level.

Adult Women (WOW) – Intermediate

This is a group for riders with a solid foundation in mountain biking who are looking to ride with a group of women with similar skills and ambitions. Participants must have their own gear in excellent condition, have ridden singletrack blue trails for at least one full season (spring-fall), be able to confidently descend Star Wars and pedal up 8 Bells. This group is great for women who want to connect with other women on an intermediate style ride. It’s very helpful if you’ve taken some sort of mountain bike instruction prior to signing up for this, mainly for assurance that the basic skills are understood.

Adult Women (WOW) – Intermediate/Advanced

This is a group for confident mountain bikers who are looking to bring their skills to the next level to targeted coaching and practice. Participants must have their own gear in good working order, have ridden on blue singletrack for at least one year, and be looking to progress onto more techinal terrain. Coaches will introduce static drills at practices to help you build confident body, bike, and terrain awareness. This group is great for women who are already confident riding, but want to break bad habits and take their skills and confidence to the next level.

MENS TEAM OPTIONS:

Adult Men (DADS) – Beginner

This group is for adult riders little or no experience mountain biking on single track trails. These riders are looking for instruction on basic mountain biking skills and principles, such as vision, bike/body awareness, line choice, shifting efficiency, cornering, and braking.

Adult Men (DADS) – Intermediate

This group is for adult riders who have some experience mountain biking on single track trails, but are looking for help to develop their fundamental skills like body, bike, and terrain awareness. This group is great for men who already have some general riding knowledge, but want to take it to the next level by learning the required skills and maneuvers for more advanced trails in town.

Adult Men (DADS) – Advanced

This group is for adult riders with considerable experience mountain biking on single-track trails, who are looking to develop even more fitness and advanced riding technique. This group is great for men who want to progress into riding more technical terrain around town.
