Durango To Hosts Sepp Kuss Film World Premiere Sept 26

DURANGO, Colo.  — Durango Devo invites the public to a community celebration featuring the World Premiere of GCKUSS, a new film about Devo alum and 2023 Vuelta a España winner, Sepp Kuss, at Buckley Park on September 26.

The event features a Q&A and extended autograph session with Kuss himself, the world premiere, large-screen viewing of the brand new GCKUSS film, a bike parade with Kuss and other Durango-based cycling champions, and an exciting community announcement.

“This is going to be a memorable evening for the whole Durango community. Sepp is a world-class example of sportsmanship, passion, and a genuine love of cycling — everything Durango Devo aims to foster,” said Devo Executive Director Nate Greason.

The event will be held at Buckley Park on Friday, September 26 from 3pm to 9pm. Ticketholders may enter to secure their seating space starting at 3pm, and autographs (open to the public, not just ticketholders) are scheduled for 3-4:30. Kuss and other cycling champions will lead a bike parade down Main Avenue at 5pm, heading south from Buckley Park and returning via East 2nd Ave.

”Nothing embodies the spirit of the Durango cycling community like a bike parade. Bring your bike, bring your helmet, bring your Devo jersey to be autographed, and wrap yourself in the magic that this experience has to offer,” said Devo Communications Director Aleks Gajdeczka.

The film premiere begins at dusk, around 7:30. GCKUSS follows Kuss’ journey from Durango Devo kid to world-renowned Grand Tour champion. “This film at its core is a love letter to Durango. It’s not just about Sepp’s incredible journey, it’s about the spirit of this place. A heritage carried through trails, friends, and community that shaped who he is. That spirit is at the heart of the film, and there’s nowhere else this premiere could happen but here,” said filmmaker Charlie Howard.

All film attendees should bring low chairs or blankets to enjoy the screening in the grass at Buckley Park. This special community presentation is made possible through a partnership between Durango Devo, the City of Durango, and Mountain Water Productions. Tickets to the film cost $20 for adults and $15 for kids.

Volunteer shifts are available for anyone interested in contributing. No special skills are necessary and all help is appreciated. All volunteers receive free entry to the film premiere.

This celebration is a fundraiser for Durango Devo, a Colorado 501[c][3] non-profit organization dedicated to developing lifelong cyclists, one ride at a time. Devo offers team-based mountain biking instruction — as well as scholarships, loaner gear, and community programs — for area youth from age 3 all the way through adulthood.
