For riders in middle and high school, we offer a wide variety of summer program options, from weeklong summer camps at Purgatory, to weekend trips to the high country and out-of-town overnight trips, there is something for everyone. Check out our Summer Camp Catalog for specific schedules, and check out the descriptions below for more information.
2025 SUMMER OPTIONS:
Description: Our Exploras 6th-12th Grade Summer Camp will be a 5-day long camp. Exploras is a program that sees the bike as a tool for exploration and teaches bike packing skills. The first 2 days of camp riders will meet from 9am-12pm and will be preparing for the 3 day overnight trip that will be the adventure of a lifetime.
Goals: The overall goal of the trip will be to prepare for and execute a successful backcountry bikepacking trip!Requirements: Riders should have completed at least one season of a Devo Bikepacking program (Ramblers, Exploras, Trailblazers) before attending the trip, or have previous bikepacking experience.
Description: This will be a trip for our middle school-aged riders to attend the Crested Butte Junior MTB Festival. This event will have 3 different disciplines of racing (xc, enduro, pump-track) that can be registered for individually, or sign up to race all 3 for the Omnium Award that is up for grabs for the fastest overall rider! Race registration is SEPARATE from this trip signup. Information on the event and race registration can be found here: www.juniorbikeweek.com/omnium.Goals: The goal of this trip is to introduce riders to the joys of racing at the Crested Butte Junior MTB Fest!Requirements: Riders should have completed at least one season of middle school Devo programs, or have experience riding and racing MTBs, to participate.
Description: This will be a 3 day trip for the gravity programs (Flyers, Senders, and Sendas) or any other interested riders who have their coach’s OK for riding away from home on intermediate to advanced DH trails.
Goals: Riders will learn intermediate and advanced DH skills at the Angel Fire Bike Park.Requirements: This is an advanced trip. Riders must have completed at least one full season of Flyers, Senders, or Sendas, and have their coach’s OK to travel to ride these intermediate and advanced DH trails.
Description: This will be our U19 Spring Season culmination event. We are headed to a high country destination (Telluride, Crested Butte, etc.) to camp, get in a couple of big rides, and check out the bike park. We will fill our downtime with river dips, hikes to rad spots, and just hanging in the mountains doing mountain things. This is a fun, non-racey adventure for the entire U19 team. Description: Purgatory’s bike park being closed isn’t going to stop Devo’s all-girls crew from shredding on bikes this summer!Our U14 Summer Shred Weeks are 5-day camps that will be held around Durango and in the San Juan Mountains. Each week will start with a day of features and trails here in town to evaluate riders and build basic skills before transitioning to several days of mid-country and high country van-shuttle laps. We’ll plan to wrap up the week with a Thursday-Friday overnight trip to rip the Telluride Bike Park (permit pending — if Telluride can’t accommodate us we’ll plan to shred the high country ourselves, with the help of Devo’s vans). It’s the perfect introduction (or re-introduction!) to high country and downhill riding.Goals: The goal of the U14 Girls Summer Shred Week is to keep your MTB skills and stoke fresh through the summer! Riders will explore new trails out of town and in the Durango middle/high-country.Requirements: Riders of all ability levels are welcome, however, be prepared for long rides up to 4 hours! Riders should come with some fitness and motivation ready.
Description: Our U14 Fundamentals of Gravity camp is a great way for middle school aged riders to explore jump lines and downhill trails with the guidance of gravity-specialist coaches. This camp will be made up of 3 days of in-town riding refining skills (Mesa and Brown’s) before heading up to some shuttle-accessed trails for 2 days of riding. The perfect way to prepare for a summer of gravity riding for the rider who wants to improve their jumping and descending.Goals: The main goal of this camp is to introduce riders to the ins and outs of technical, high-speed descendingRequirements: Riders of all ability levels are welcome, however, be prepared for long days at high altitudes (average altitude ~9,000ft, as high as 10,000ft). Riders should come with some fitness and motivation ready.

Riders should expect a whole ton of downhill riding, with a focus on technical descents and jumps, as well as some pedaling to keep building on the fitness we have built up over the spring.”Goals: The main goals of this camp is to build and develop the skills involved in technical downhill shredding!Requirements: Riders should have at least one season of riding with Devo under their belt, or have other experience riding MTBs in a downhill setting. Be prepared for long days at high altitudes (average altitude ~9,000ft, as high as 10,000ft). Riders should come with some fitness and motivation ready.
Description: Our U14 Girls Summer Session will meet 2 times a week, practicing from 8:30am-12:30pm for 3 weeks. This camp will give riders a taste of the amazing trails and cycling activities available in the area that are not possible during our 2 hour spring practices. This session will culminate with taking part in Devo’s trip to the Crested Butte Junior MTB Festival (not included in group registration).Goals: The goal of this camp is to enjoy time on our bikes, explore new trails in the Durango area, and get ready for an awesome trip with Devo to Crested Butte!Requirements: Riders should have completed at least one season of riding with Devo, and be excited for several hours of fun riding with friends!
Description: Our U14 High Country Camp is a 3 day camp designed to help our riders who crave an equal amount of skill and fitness building. We will take the riders on 3 different rides in the San Juan National Forest, highlighting for them where cycling can take them as they grow older and start to explore trail systems on their own. Goals: The main goal of this camp is to show riders the beauty of the San Juan high country, and give them the skills to navigate it safely.Requirements: Riders should have at least one season of riding with Devo under their belt, or have other experience riding MTBs at high altitude. Be prepared for long days at high altitudes (average altitude ~9,000ft, as high as 12,000ft). Riders should come with some fitness and motivation ready.
Description: Shuttle Sundays are one-day trips during July and August where athletes will be driven to and from unique, downhill oriented rides around Durango and in the mid and high country outside of town. While riding they will receive lessons on how to improve their downhill and technical riding skills while being safely guided throughout the day as they shred with all their buddies! Make sure to bring a lunch as this is an all-day trip.
Specific routes for each day will be selected based on coach input, weather and trail conditions, and the skill level and motivation of the group itself. Rest assured, whatever we ride, it will be rad!Goals: The main goal of this camp is to ride new trails that we can’t normally access in a Devo practice, with a focus on downhill riding and technical descents!Requirements: Riders should have participated in another Devo program or summer camp prior to registering.
