We are close to a deal with the local tv station IDTV, channel 15, to show a bi-monthly mountain bike program all in the name of DEVO. We are currently looking for sponsors for our air time. It is a great way to advertise locally. Please contact Annie@durangodevo.com if interested. Chase Orrick will be the mastermind behind the lens, Annie will be the hardworking businesswoman and our DEVO programs in the community will provide the content. Have a nice day.
DEVO’s team race in Telluride on August 1-3 was officially cancelled last month and will be replaced by Escalante Days in Dolores on August 9th. This is an amazing local race with a town festival surrounding the event. With traveling expenses skyrocketing, this will be a welcome team event. Mark it down as a go all you U-14 and U-19 DEVO racers, we are Dolores bound! The race covers the Boggy Draw singletrack area located just outside of downtown Dolores. The festival includes numerous BBQ’s, waterfight and random small town activities.Read More

Cycling has carried me far! From a wobbly spin around the yard as a 6 year old, to a ride around the block at 8, the boundries grew. At 12, my buds from the hood and I did a hilly 30 mile round trip to the lake. Many moons later, the miles piled on and and associations gained through involvement in cycling led me to world travel. Most recently, I completed a ride from Durango to Costa Rica through Mexico and Central America, to pursue a dream formulated 35 years ago. And why stop now? NO WAY!!!!!
Perhaps a bicycle will carry you in the direction of your dreams. The training, the suffering, the comraderie, the rivalries, the elation of successful, personal acheivement are all potential byproducts of our chosen activity. And winning races would be nice, but not necessary to gain a great result. Ride on!!!!
It is always sweet when the DEVO season finally gets underway. The paperwork and sign-up period ends and the fun begins. The U-14 boys ride went off with out a hitch on monday, as the team rode up lions den and tested the thaw around the FLC campus trails. Elliott Slaslow was in England and we missed him. Kricket and the U-19 ladies took off towards Horse Gulch and followed it up with some pen and paper observations. High Fives were seen in the distance. Tuesday’s jr. DEVO 20inch ride, led by coaches Evan Elliot and Annie Cheeney found several hours of fun honing their skills at the bmx track. The U-19 men took off from the rec center and rode Stacey’s in perfect riding weather. Taking our pulse at the high point led us to the conclusion that we have our work cut out for us after the long winter season. All in all, it has been a great start to the season. Today DEVO will take to the trails with 6 rides going off from different locations; 1st graders, 24inchers, AllGirlsRide, U-14 girls, U-19 Ladies and U-19 Mens. Lets keep it up.Read More
Yep, thats right, we’re Oklahoma bound. We both have landed jobs in the suburbs of OKC, OK for the summer. Annie found work at the local library, and Chad will start at a paper plant in mid june. Turns out that Durango is just too darn expensive. DEVO will continue on through the year and hopefully do just fine. Rides led by Chad and Anne will be led by the oldest rider, as of Dec 31st, on each team. Please contact chad@durangodevo if your child will be eligible to lead team practices. April Fools!Read More
